I Can Count

Training a dog to count

and I understand volume and density on a scale of tastiness.

As I said in my last blog I would think about how I would get more chicken out of Derek and so, this morning after my first pee which is a big one and kind of hard to stop once started, I decided that I would do tiny little pee’s! think about it …chew string chew string chew string… cos it means I would get lots of bits of chicken. When Derek saw me doing this he laughed out loud like he did last night reading emails. So with the tiniest squirt I popped a little splash on the puppy mat, bang square in the middle just to prove the point. After he had stopped laughing he got the chicken out and gave me the tiniest bit of chicken, which I took and then went ??? hold on what just happened? So I went back to the potty mat and did another tiny pee, looking him in the eye so he would definitely notice and give me my chicken.

After he stopped laughing he got the chicken out and gave me another tiny bit of that delicious chicken. My eyes turned to the mat, turned back to him and I thought about it, circling him like my prey. I got on the mat and did another pee, a bit bigger and I got more chicken. And I knew I shouldn’t have done that because when I tried again in a minute there was nothing left!

Now here’s the rub, it wasn’t enough so I called a strike and went and did my poo in the corner. That showed him lol …where’s the monkey toy?…. so next time, instead of doing it on the mat and getting a tasty big bit of chicken I’ll show him by doing it in the corner ….where’s my chew string?….

Still thinking about this one but we are definitely into negotiations and as you can see, I can clearly count and understand volume and tastiness.

…and revenge is a dish best served warm and steaming…
